Design Reviews & Client Presentations
An immersive, untethered VR experience created for Sanlorenzo’s 50M superyacht.
Developed at clay-render level, the experience is designed to give project teams a true sense of scale, proportion and spatial relationships while keeping design changes and iteration quick. This makes VR particularly effective for early-stage superyacht design reviews, when being able to step inside a space and assess it at full scale can help identify issues and inform decisions before the design is fully resolved.
For this demonstration, the experience can begin with a tender approach across the water, providing a sense of arrival and a wider understanding of the superyacht in context before moving through the exterior decks and interior spaces.
Whether teleporting between areas or walking freely through the superyacht, intuitive controls make it easy to explore the design naturally and at your own pace.
The experience supports multiple users, allowing designers, clients and project teams to enter the same virtual space, review the superyacht design together and discuss changes in real time. First- and third-person perspectives can also be viewed through companion apps on tablets and PCs, giving others in the room a clear view of what is being explored inside the headset.
Interactive tools allow users to highlight areas of interest with a pointer or take accurate measurements based on the real-world scale of the design. Together, these features make VR a practical tool for collaborative yacht design review, helping teams assess spaces, communicate ideas and make informed decisions from the early stages of a project through to completion.
The environment combines refined visual fidelity with a highly optimised VR framework, allowing detailed design information to be presented without compromising performance. This keeps movement and interaction smooth and intuitive, making it easier to focus on the spaces, proportions and details of the design rather than the technology itself.
Ambient and interactive details also add context to the experience, including the ability to shift through different times of day and see how the environment responds to changing light and conditions. This provides a more complete understanding of how the yacht design will feel across different settings, from daylight through to evening and night.
